I am so SMRT!
Higher education is facing budget reductions that will still leave the system with as much money as it had in the 2005-07 biennium - a period in which UNR spent over $30,000 per pupil and UNLV spent over $16,000 per pupil, and neither university graduated more than half its students in six years.
Unfortunatly, supporters of ever-increasing spending on higher education want to paint opponents of increasing taxes and funding as "anti-intellectual" or "anti-education." Frankly, there is nothing "intellectual" about blowing $30,000 per pupil and failing to graduate half your students on time.
Using money more effectivly is smart. Spending more money to get the same results is not even s.m.r.t. ... Take it away, Homer (see the video above).
