Democratic lawmaker brags about cutting taxes
Unfortunately, he's from Montana.
Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer was in Las Vegas last week and had this criticism of Gov. Gibbons.The Montana governor drew a contrast with his state, where he said his administration has cut taxes and increased funding for K-12 and higher education; the state is running a budget surplus, and unemployment is under 6 percent. (emphasis added)
Say what? They've cut taxes?
Leaving aside the politics of which party is calling loudly for tax increases, any chance Gov. Schweitzer could swing up to Carson City on his way back to Montana? Maybe Nevada's legislative leadership would be open to the message that there is no need to increase taxes if it came from Gov. Schweitzer.
